Clarence Eugene Horton Jr.

Clarence Eugene “Gene”  Horton Jr. passed away quietly in his sleep on Thursday April 18, 2013 in Burleson, Texas after a long battle with diabetes. Gene was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Clarence Eugene Horton Sr. and JoAnn Johnson Horton on June 9, 1952. Gene graduated from Charles Page High School in 1970 and attended Northeastern Oklahoma College in Miami, Oklahoma on a baseball scholarship. He married Vickie Barnett Horton on August 3, 1974 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Gene retired from Lone Star Container after 33 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, sports and was an avid “OU” fan. Gene also enjoyed being with his family and reminiscing with his lifelong friends. He will be missed by many. Gene is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons, Brian Gene Horton and wife, Julie of Burleson, Texas and Jeff Horton and wife, Sarah of Keller, Texas; brother, Mike Horton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Brenda LeBlue of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; grandchildren; Haley, Ava and Zachary Horton; nephew; Jakob LeBlue and wife, Elizabeth of Havelock, North Carolina along with many friends who loved him dearly. Memorial Service:  Noon Tuesday April 30,2013. At Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home Chapel.
