Arlington– Alexander G. Troup III, 76, passed away Wednesday September 17, 2014.Memorial Service:   October 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at North Davis Church of Christ. 1601 North Davis Drive Arlington, TX.76012 Memorials: The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hearts and Hands at 1601 North Davis Drive Arlington, TX. 76012, Boy Scout Troop 630, or Cancer Research. Alex was born in Chicago, IL to Alexander G. Troup II and Hazel Hall Troup. At an early age the family moved to Dallas. He graduated from Adamson High School in 1957. He was a member of ROTC and a cheerleader. He attended North Texas State University as a journalism major. Alex joined the Marine Corps and proudly served active duty for six months and reserves for nine years. Alex was employed in inside and outside sales for several different metal corporations. Last of which was Specialty Rolled Metals. Due to his deteriorating health he reluctantly retired on December 31. 2013. He was a member of North Davis Church of Christ for 36 years. He proudly served as assistant leader and mentor for The Boy Scouts of America Troop 630. Alex was preceded in death by his parents and brother Clarence Troup. Survivors:  His loving wife of 41 years Beth, sons: Andrew C. Troup of Bakersville, CA, Alexander G. Troup IV and his wife Kerry of Washington D.C., step sons: Mark R. Jones and his wife Durinda of Bedford, TX and Darrell A. Jones of Texarkana, AR; Grandchildren: Katherine and Alexander Troup V; Robin, David and his wife Sarah, Jeremy, Jesse, and Ashley Jones; Great granddaughter Isabella Reinbold; Sister, Suzanne Troup. A very special nephew Rolfe A. Troup. And numerous friends, co-workers and customers.
