Visitation: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Today is a bitter sweet day for our family. A great man, a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, our dad, Audel C Jernigan a Christian, passed from this life to his eternal home. He was born on June 27, 1935 during the depression, raised in Alabama. He joined the Air Force, traveled extenisively retiring from the Air Force after 24 years and went right to work at Air Force plant #4 for General Dynamics, now Lockheed Martin. He retired from Lockheed Martin after a combined 19 years. He enjoyed a good retirement on his Diamond J Ranch in Burleson where he spent time with mom, worked in his garden and enjoyed raising cows. Dad loved seed time and harvest time. He loved life and liked being around animals he cared for. His priorities were right and pure. We loved our dad and are thankful for his legacy as a believer in Christ Jesus. We are thankful that he left a body that he wore out. Now he has no pain, no discomfort and he is in heaven. Please pray for our family as we let go and look forward to being with him one day.
