Family and friends of Avelina Hilda De La Cerda, it is with heavy heart and great pain that we announce her passing. Lina, as we had all become to know her, passed away in her sleep on the 8th of November 2016, in Dallas Texas. Lina, who was a lifelong resident of El Paso Texas, a graduate of Belair High School, and a nearly 20 year employee of The El Paso Electric Company, will be missed by all who had the honor of embracing her into their life. Lina leaves behind her daughter Mrs. Concepcion Arliene Pugh, currently residing in Augusta Georgia, and her son Jonathan Lee Alvarez, El Paso Texas. She will leave a lasting impression with her three grandchildren Bryce Holden Pugh, 21, Atlanta Georgia, Savannah Ashlyn Mckinnies, 20, Seattle Washington, and Austin James Alvarez, one, El Paso Texas. Lina also leaves behind a beloved family of sisters and one brother Luis Morales, Mary Irizarry, Blanca Gutierrez, Linda Miranda, and Nellie Rodriguez. There will be a brief ceremony in the coming weeks as the family prepares to say their final goodbyes as they will carry out Lina’s final wish of spreading her ashes and laying her to rest in the beautiful waters just off the coast of Cancun, Mexico. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that you consider making a donation to the Lupus Foundation of America, in the name of Avelina De La Cerda.
