Barbara Briscoe Perry, 63, passed away on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Fort Worth, Texas. Barbara was born on July 27th, 1958, to Mildred Briscoe and Joe Briscoe in Ft. Worth, Texas. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BA in English and a minor in History. After college Barbara married John Perry with which she had two children, Natalie Michelle Perry in 1984 and Nicholas Alexander Perry in 1986. Their marriage lasted 15 passionate years and they remained close friends until her passing. Barbara was extremely devoted to her two children and was always eager to share with anyone who would listen how proud she was of them both. Although she only had two biological children, her big heart and caring soul made her assume the role as a surrogate mother to extended family and her children’s friends. She took joy in providing a safe, loving, and non-judgmental environment to anyone who needed it. She radiated an infectious love of life that invited those in her presence to laugh and feel free. Barbara was happiest with a house full of family and friends. She loved music, particularly Leon Russel and David Bowie. She was an extremely spiritual person and explored many faiths and belief systems. She could transition from talking about Jesus, to Sufism, to giving you a tarot reading, and did all with equal passion. She was an avid fantasy and science-fiction fan, a voracious reader, and a wonderful writer. She was the best author you’ve never heard of. Barbara’s empathic nature placed her in a career as a Family Evaluator at MHMR of Tarrant County, where she helped numerous families receive resources they needed. Barbara was predeceased by her parents Mildred and Joe Briscoe, her sister Jo, and her best friend Ginny. She is survived by her children Natalie and Alex, her sister Kaye Murray, as well as a large extended family. Services will be held at John and Jen Perry’s home in Haslet Texas, on Sunday, March 13th, at 2:00 p.m. For address and directions please contact John Perry, Natalie Sistrunk, Alex Perry, or email Barbara_CelebrationOfLife@outlook.com In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to any of the following organizations: Cancer Research Institute, American Humane, Crisis Text Line, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
