FORT WORTH — Betty Jean “BJ” Gilbert passed away in her home on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Thursday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Betty Gilbert was born Nov. 14, 1928, in Warner, Okla., to Lula Ellen and Will Perry. She was the sixth of seven children. Betty was widowed in 1996 and now joins her husband Louie to be with Jesus. BJ and Louie were married at 16 and celebrated their 50th anniversary several months prior to Louie’s passing. BJ was a postal carrier and school cafeteria employee, but for most of her life she was a homemaker taking care of her three sons. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A great day for BJ was the whole family around the table visiting and with her serving. Survivors: Sons, Dan and Renee’ Gilbert of Fort Worth, Lucky and Deborah Gilbert of Mineral Wells, and Jacee Gilbert of Milwaukee, Wis.; sister, Vicki James; brother, Lucky and Zella Perry; grandchildren, Deanna and Roy Kiser, Dana and James Pechacek, Taylor Gilbert, Lindsey Hollenshead, Mindy Wood, Darryl and Kelly Martin, David and Molly Martin, Castle and Allison Lovett and Erin and Phree Betancourt; great-grandchildren, Sydnee Gailey, Karlee Gailey, Jye Pechacek, Maci Pechacek, Alex, Amanda and Rebecca Wood, Maddox and Phoenix Lovett, Phree and Seven Betancourt.
