Beverly Reifel

BURLESON — Beverly Reifel, 80, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008.   Funeral: 3 p.m. Friday at Charity Lutheran Church, 1101 S.W. Wilshire Blvd., Burleson. Interment: In accordance with Beverly’s wishes, she will be cremated and her remains will be buried in Syracuse, N.Y., with those of her husband and their infant son.   Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.   Beverly was born May 13, 1928, in Roscoe, N.Y., to Erford and Ruth Porter. She married the love of her life, Donald C. Reifel, in 1951, and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage until his death in 1998.   Beverly entered Syracuse University School of Nursing with the Cadet Corps of Nursing at the end of World War II and earned an RN degree. After graduating, she had a career in both hospital nursing and working with the Red Cross. Her last years of active nursing were spent as a school nurse for the Burleson ISD. Beverly enjoyed swimming, singing, watching her birds, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a charter member of Charity Lutheran Church for more than 30 years.   She was preceded in death by her husband and their infant son, Carl Kenneth Reifel. Those who loved her will miss her warmth and her loving nature.   Survivors: Daughters, Karen Reifel and husband, Mark Burch, and Krista Brown and husband, Gerald; brother, Erford E. Porter and wife, Jane; and grandchildren, Christian, Danielle and Joshua Brown.
