Bonnie Lue McKnight, 86 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband Bonnie C. McKnight, her parents, O.H. & Jennie Brown, her baby, Dennis McKnight, her brothers Melton Brown , Van Brown of Oklahoma, Thomas Brown of Fort Worth, her sisters, Margie Russell of Fort Worth and Mary Vogt of Forest Hill. She is survived by her sisters Jean Whitley of Arlington and Katherine Allen of Fort Worth; daughters Brenda May and husband Don of Crowley, Sheila Martin and husband Richard of Brock, Denice Etheridge and husband Keith of Burleson and 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Bonnie was born on September 4, 1927 in Mansfield, Texas. She lived at the old homested in Retta, Texas throughout her childhood and teenage years before moving to Fort Worth. She worked at Champion Parts for many years before retiring. After retiring she babysat her grandchildren and great grandchildren. There was usually a houseful, especially on Friday or Saturday nights. The kids would go over there to spend the night and they would have a ball. She pretty much let them do what they wanted. She loved to go to all of her grandkids baseball, softball, basketball, football and soccer games. If one of the grandkids were playing a game she was there. She was their biggest fan! She lived in Crowley for about 30 years and going to all of those Crowley games she became friends with so many. She traveled with her daughters to San Antonio and Louisiana for the National Softball Tournaments. Even when she had to go to the nursing home and her daughter would pick her up to take her to one of the games she always said thanks for taking me – it made her day. She is probably up in heaven know showing some kids how she played when she was little.
