Brandon Leigh Dry, age 48, passed away peacefully at his home in Oak Leaf, Texas on Friday August 28, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his long-time love of 22 years, Kim Mackie. The two shared a beautiful life together and recently wed in a special ceremony in their home. Kim and Brandon met while working together at Auto One and had many wonderful adventures over the years. Two of his beloved “children”, dogs, Max and Georgia, will miss him greatly; but his other loves, Chloe, Missy, and Gabby undoubtedly met him to welcome him home. Brandon was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 14, 1972, to David and Donna Dry of Mesquite, Texas. He is survived by his parents, his grandmother, Evelyn Dry, and brother Shawn and his wife Stacy of Clawson, Michigan, and brother in law Keith Mackie of Waco, Texas. Brandon will be missed by Aunt Debbie and husband Joe LaGrasta, Aunt Gailene Johnston, Aunt Linda Tomicek, his four beautiful nieces Kira and Mattie Dry, and Hayley and Kendal Mackie, many cousins, and countless other friends who were like family to him. To those who knew, loved and were mentored by him, Brandon was a kind, selfless, honest, and compassionate man, a great leader who respected everyone. That said, one of his greatest qualities was that he told you how it was, even if you did not want to hear it! Chalk that up to his strong-willed and stubborn nature, which apparently comes from his father’s side of the family and is what many people loved and respected about him because although he held his ground, he was always respectful. Above all, Brandon would always win you over with his sense of humor, his sarcasm, his wit, and his loud, boisterous laugh that was certainly contagious to anyone who had the privilege of hearing it! And, Oh that smile! Brandon was well-respected in the auto finance industry for over 24 years, which led to his position of Vice President of Dealer Services at Exeter Finance, where he was dedicated and driven to serve his team as a leader, a mentor, and a life-changing friend to many of his co-workers. More than anything, Brandon loved life, adventure, and good times! He loved golf, good music, fast cars, and the world was his playground. If you were counted as one of his many good friends or loved ones, you knew how lucky you were to be in his presence! In lieu of memorial services, Brandon was insistent on a celebration of his life, which his family will be planning in the coming weeks. Details will be forthcoming. Anyone wishing to make a donation in his memory please consider their local animal shelter or the ASPCA.
