Brian Hebert, age 59, passed away on February 11, 2024, at his home in Grand Prairie, TX. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Hazel, and three brothers, James Allen (Jimmy) and John Ellis (Cricket) of Lafayette, LA, and Ernest Keith (Tubby) of McEwen, TN. He is survived by his four sisters, Judy Ann Broussard, Sandra Turland, Melissa Hebert (George Wain), and Pamela Hebert (Cherie LaFleur), and two brothers, Richard, and David all of Lafayette, LA. His also survived by his former wife, Connie Martinez. Many extended family and friends will also miss him including those who regarded Brian as a father figure, Brandon Lantier, Ginger White (Jeff), Stephanie Laplante, Eric Keng (Alli), Matthew Potts (Emily), Karo Khudanyan, Karolina Khudanyan, and Natalie Lake. Brian was a talented and passionate person who excelled at anything he tried. He knew his way around the kitchen and loved sharing his Cajun cooking with family and friends. Sailing was one of Brian’s passions and he participated in many racing and regatta events. He was a member of the Grapevine Sailing Club and would help the crew when he was able. It is rumored that he was known to be a talented pool player who snookered many bar patrons back in the day. Brian loved music and enjoyed attending concerts and music festivals. He also wrote music and recently knocked the rust off his music skills, playing guitar, singing, and penning lyrics with his beloved co-workers. In true Hebert fashion, Brian also knew his way around power tools and woodworking and completed several projects around his home. He was equally generous about helping people and his home was always open to friends needing a place to stay. On a professional level, Brian was a very accomplished software designer. He was a self-taught database programmer. Brian’s intellect, creativity, and programming skills resulted in numerous professional achievements. He was involved in the creation of several products in the publishing sector including magazines, newspaper advertising, real estate, and automobile listing catalogs. He also created marketing, shopping, and financial management database systems and online applications for government and commercial enterprises. He was Vice President of Technology and Operations at Williams Signal and was excited about the future of the company. Celebrations of Brian’s life will be held in Grand Prairie, TX, and Lafayette, LA at later dates. Online condolences for the family may be offered on Brian’s Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or the Children’s Museum of Acadiana. Brian, May the wind be ever at your back.
