Dr. Cameron Edward Shropshire, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and partner of 40 years Dr. Susan Shropshire, and sons. He was a committed Christian, Husband and Dad. He was a member of First United Methodist Church for many years and later Christ Chapel Bible Church. He was born on November 7, 1930 in Harris Hospital the year it opened. He had long ties with Fort Worth dating back 150 years through his grandparents and parents, Cameron E Shropshire Sr. And Marguerite Grady Shropshire. He grew up in Fort Worth with his brother Grady Lee Shropshire and lots of friends. He attended college at Washinton & Lee University and finished college at SMU. He graduated with his MD degree from the University of Texas in Galveston, interning at John Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland and completed his OB residency at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas. He returned to Fort Worth to practice OBGYN for 15 years and was beloved by all his patients. He decided to switch specialties to Anesthesiology and did a residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He returned to Fort Worth to practice Anesthesia. He became the Director of Anesthesia at the Fort Worth Surgery Center for many years until he retired. He enjoyed playing golf, dominoes, and cards with many friends at Rivercrest Country Club. His greatest love in life was spending time with his wife and children, and many pets. Dr. Shropshire is survived by his wife Dr. Susan Shropshire, son GradyLee Shropshire of Fort Worth, son Mac Shropshire his wife Dr. Kai Shropshire, and grandson Edward of Houston. His son Cameron E Shropshire III and wife Stephanie of New Braunfels and grandson Dr. Will Shropshire and his wife Nikki of Houston. He was predeceased by his daughter Sharon Shropshire. He is also survived by his beloved brother Grady Shropshire and his wife Lynda Shropshire of Fort Worth and their families. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mary Milam, Dr. Robert Kelly, and Dr. Amir Malik for their undivided attention and excellent medical care. Also the family wishes to thank Visiting Angels and their team of caregivers, Hospice RN Tammy Sprier and Dr. Henry Dollahite. As per Dr. Shropshire’s request there will be no funeral.
