Charles Edward Mannie Sr.

Charles Edward Mannie Sr. (affectionately called Chuck), died peacefully surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle of cancer on October 30th, 2019 in Mansfield Texas. Charles was born on November 26, 1946 in Chicago Illinois to Eddie and Bertha Mannie. Chuck graduated from Tolleston High School in Gary Indiana, class of 1965. He attended college at Tennessee State University in Nashville Tennessee, and, served in the US Army. He retired from Fedex in 2018. Later in life he was contacted by Jehovah’s Witnesses were he learned Bible truths and, was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on November 15, 1981. He served Jehovah faithfully until his death. He married Wanda Witherspoon October 18, 1997 the love of his life. And, together, they enjoyed many privileges of service in the Christian congregation. Predeceased by his parents Eddie and Bertha Mannie, brothers Rudy Mannie and Curtis Peterson. He is survived by his wife Wanda, his siblings, Eddie Mannie (Diane) Dorothy Watson, Lastarza Mannie, Barbara Nibbs (Steve), Jayson Mannie, Yvonne, Willie Ola Brent (Ulysses), His children Martina Mannie, Rashida Mannie, Charles Mannie Jr (Heidi), Chioke Mannie, Takiyah Mannie, and, step children, Etosha Mickens, Grover (TJ) Mickens, and his adorable and loving grand children, Hakeem Mannie, Taliyah Neal, Kiara Hicks Mannie, Octavious Mannie, Pai’Ton Mannie, Hohnist Mannie, Cynnamin Mannie, Charles III, Jacoby Mannie, Mikalah, Chioke Mannie Jr, Aanica Mannie, and great grand children, Kayson and Ace Mannie. He will be missed dearly by other family and friends. Memorial services will be held, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5700 Kelly Elliott Road, Arlington, TX 76017 with Brother Daniel Koritsas giving the memorial talk. The Mannie family would like to extend our gratitude to the Home health staff of Encompass for their attentiveness, compassion and loving care, as well as many of our dear brothers and sisters who so lovingly cared, and assisted him to his many appointments.
