Christina Straka Shields

Chris Straka Shields, 60, of Watauga passed away peacefully at her home after a long illness on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Chris was born in Excelsior Springs, Mo . on March 18, 1961 to Jerry and Betty Coursen Straka. She was married to Keith Shields in 1979. Chris proudly served in the US Army as a cook and got to spend a year in Germany. She is survived by her husband, Keith Shields, along with their daughter, Cherie (Aaron) Bussey of Texas, her mother, Betty Reese of Kentucky, a chosen son, Daniel of Texas, a chosen sister, Melanie Frith of Texas, her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Coursen of MO; dad and mom in law, Joe and Naomi Shields of Texas, as well nieces, nephews, grand children and many, many friends. Chris was preceded in death by her father, a granddaughter and 3 brothers. Cremation being handled by Lone Star Cremation. A memorial will be done at a later date.
