Azle – Connie L. Spears, 58, of Azle, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Connie was born on January 16, 1964 in Fort Worth, Texas to Charles and Linda Spears. Connie graduated from Western Hills High School in 1982 and then Texas Wesleyan University in 1986 with a major in business. At TWU she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She has worked at University North Texas Health Science, General Dynamics, and the Fort Worth Stockyards. Growing up, Connie was part o f the Texas Girl’s Choir for 4 years, where she got to travel all over the United States and to Europe for two weeks, along with her mother as a chaperone. She loved to travel. She went to Las Vegas, went on several cruises, and visited Disney World three times. Connie was an avid reader and would usually have a book near her wherever she went. Her favorites were romance and mystery books. She loved going to movies with friends and enjoyed being able to go see the movie premiers before they were released to the public. Connie loved collecting Precious Moments and Beanie Babies. Her love of animals always generated a houseful of dogs, which were always considered part of the family. Connie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved working at the Stockyards where she could meet people from out of state. Connie could make friends with anyone she met and was easy to talk to on a variety of subjects. Connie is survived by her parents, Charles and Linda Spears, one aunt, Wanza Merchant, several cousins and many friends. She is also survived by her four dogs, Pumpkin, Rockie, Freckles and Bandit and her two ponies, Sassy and Baby. Cremation arrangement by Lone Star Cremation.
