Cynthia Voyles Eaton

Cynthia Voyles Eaton was born April 3, 1957 in Urbana, Illinois. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Missouri State University (formerly Southwest Missouri State), and earned her graduate degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University. She worked for over a decade in the field of neuro-psychology at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, and later worked in private practice. Her abilities in assessment of and therapy for pediatric and adolescent patients on the Autism spectrum led to the creation of a well respected therapy group for which some patients traveled from other cities and even states to participate. Cynthia was also a lifelong equestrian, and she was especially gratified by the opportunity to show her Andalusian named Abanderada at the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Championships for several years. Cynthia is survived by two daughters, Abigail McGranahan of St. Louis, Missouri, and Emma Eaton, of Southlake, Texas and London, England, as well as two grandchildren, Patrick McGranahan and Mollie McGranahan, both of St. Louis. Burial will be at Tuscola, Illinois, next to her father, and services in early April at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church are to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to the Autism Society of America or the charity of your choice.
