Dale Lee Ellenberger

GRANBURY – Dale Lee Ellenberger, loving husband, father and friend, passed away April 28, 2014, at the age of 79. Celebration of Life: 09:00am, Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the White Chapel at Acton United Methodist Church, Granbury, TX, with Pastor Chris Mesa officiating. Dale was born June 12, 1934 to the late Floyd Lee and Treulia Zoma Ellenberger in Lamar, CO. He was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Navy. Dale married the love of his life, Loretta Mae Orr, on August 10, 1957, in Boulder, CO. He obtained a Bachelor of Divinity in 1970 from Southwestern University at Winfield, KS; and a Masters of Divinity from St. Paul Seminary in Kansas City in 1973 and was ordained an Elder of the United Methodist Church in 1974. He touched the lives of many people as he served at the following churches in the Kansas West Conference: Healy/Shields, Meade, Syracuse, Satanta, St. Luke’s in Wichita, Tisdale/Grandview, and Canton/Galva. His past-times were singing tenor, fishing, golfing, reading and theological discussions. He leaves behind a loving family very grateful for his love and support and he will be deeply missed. The family thanks the employees of Community Hospice, Crowley Nursing & Rehab Center, Quail Park Assisted Living, and Granbury Villa for their love and care during his final months. Dale is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta; his parents; son, Andrew; brother, Wendell Ellenberger. Survivors: Son, Mark Ellenberger and wife Anita; daughter, Melody Ellenberger, and many friends.
