David Kevin Cavasar, 66, of Fort Worth, TX passed away on August 26, 2026. David was born on September 19, 1959 in Gainesville, TX, to Susan Sampson Cavasar and Joy Edward Cavasar. David was an only child, so he shared his life with aunts, uncles, and cousins in Thackerville, OK and in Texas. He was an ever present father to his daughter, Meagan, and his son, Steven, as well as full of love towards his daughter-in-law Kelsey and his grandson, Graham.
David graduated from O.D. Wyatt High School in 1977, and continued his education at Texas Tech University, obtaining his Bachelor of Business Administration Management in 1982.
In 1991, just one month after the birth of his daughter, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He required multiple immediate surgeries, which he nearly succumbed to several times. He spent numerous months in the hospital recovering. Post surgery, he lost the ability to communicate and move. He faced an uphill battle as he relearned to think, speak, and walk again, all while his wife, Janine, juggled taking care of him and their newborn daughter.
Over time, David recovered well and was able to be a stay at home father for his two children. He took full advantage of this opportunity by volunteering in their schools, clubs, sports, and activities. He was a devoted member to his church, University Baptist Church and considered them as another extension of his family. He was not one to complain about things. Any time you were around David, you would find him smiling, laughing, and telling funny stories. Despite the hardships he would face in his life, he put others' needs before his own. He was not drawn to the material things in life, he was a family man. He knew God would provide exactly what he needed.
David’s celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 24th at 2pm at University Baptist Church, located at 2720 Wabash Ave, Fort Worth, TX.
