Dennis Miller

Dennis Lee Miller was born in Warsaw, Indiana on September 1, 1940 to Henry and Florence (Griswold) Miller. He passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 in Texas. Dennis grew up in Warsaw, Indiana with his younger brother, Henry Kent (HK), and younger sister, Lana. After high school Dennis went on to get an Associates Degree in Accounting, married his loving wife of 58 years, Ramona, and worked in a number of accounting jobs. He eventually left accounting to follow his other passions, fire safety and sales. Over the years he sold fire trucks and various equipment used by all first responders. His job took him all over the world, including living in Florida, Iowa, and finally Texas. He was well known for his stories and tall tales, and challenging others to solve the math riddle of the hotel, the bellman, and the missing dollar. Dennis’s love of fire safety started when he became a volunteer firefighter for Wayne Township, IN, in the 1970’s. He was then an active member in founding the Aboite Township Volunteer Fire Department in 1982 and served as Fire Chief there from 1986 through 1989. Dennis and Ramona have several children and many grandchildren. He was always proud of them and liked to share embarrassing stories about them. As he grew older, he introduced himself as the father of five and the grandfather of 11 before anything else. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Florence Miller. He is survived by his wife Ramona (Worman) Miller and five children: Chris (Miller) Estep and husband Jerry, and children Josh and April of Farmland, IN, and Trisha of Ormond Beach, FL Pam Miller and husband David Zack of Grayshott, UK, and children Cameron of Madison, WI, and Colin of Sheffield, UK Jeff Miller and wife Gail, and children Jaiden of Roanoke, IN, Justin of Fort Wayne, IN, Jarrett of Bluefield, VA and Jessica of Nashville, TN Tom Miller of Arlington, TX Jennifer (Miller) Howell and husband Ross, and children Anne and Abigail of Arlington, TX His brother Henry Kent Miller and wife Linda, and their children His sister Lana (Miller) Wolfe and husband Jack, and their children And many other relatives and countless loved ones Dennis will forever live in our hearts and memories. We expect that he is either looking down to see what we are all doing or having a good old chat with (and possibly trying to sell fire equipment to) others that have preceded him. For those in Texas, a Celebration of Life will be held on April 24, 2022 in Arlington, Texas at J. Gilligan’s from 2-4pm where Dennis and Ramona celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary and where Dennis liked to go. For those in Indiana, a Celebration of Life will be held on July 16, 2022 at the Aboite Township Fire Department’s Community Room from 3-6pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a fund to support Tom as he goes to the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, this summer in Orlando, FL. Venmo: @TomOMiller
