On April 26, 2026, Edethel Gayle Jackson (Gayle) lost her short, consuming battle with cancer and slipped away in her sleep into the arms of her Heavenly Father. She was 78 years old.
Born in Eastland County Texas on November 15, 1947 to Howard and Edythe Jackson; Gayle spent her childhood in College Station. She graduated from Texas A&M Consolidated Senior High School in 1967. She went on to graduate from Texas A&M University, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree. She taught in several different elementary schools for several years and worked in Special Education in High School in Mineral Wells. She adopted her only daughter, Meagan Elissa, in 1990.
Gayle was well loved as a teacher and a loving mother to her daughter, and a good friend to many. 

She will be missed by her daughter Meagan Young and her husband Justin Young, and by her only granddaughter, Rin Young.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Edythe Jackson, and by her brother T.C.(Butch) Jackson.

There will be a Celebration of Life service, to be determined at a later date, possibly the beginning of June. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a cancer research center of your choice.
