Emil Patrick Waddick

JOSHUA — Emil Patrick Waddick, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, in Burleson. He was born in Invercargill, New Zealand, in 1927 and moved in 1958 with his family to the U.S., where he started his own construction business. Capt. Pat sailed halfway around the world, sinking three out of four of his sailboats. He was persuaded to move to Texas three years ago by his daughter and family to live on their ranch in Joshua. Patrick lived life to the fullest; he was a true adventurous. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivienne, in October 1993. Survivors: Children, Stephanie, Jane (Jerry), Andrew (Shae), Heather (Buck) and Brian; grandkids, Sierra, Cheyenne and Range; and good friend, Risa.
