Fernando "Doy" Nucum

Fernando (Doy) Gonzales Nucum, born May 30, 1949, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, surrounded by his family in Haslet, TX.

Doy married his beloved wife, Carmencita (Chit), in 1981, and together they raised two children, Kathleen and Fernando Jr. (Buddy). He was preceded in death by his twins, Ferdinand and Joseph Nucum, who passed at birth.

Doy was fun, young at heart, an avid golfer, a world traveler, and loved for gathering with family and friends. He was a Past Worshipful Master Mason of Hinsdale Lodge and raised many individuals in the craft to become Master Masons.

Doy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Chit; his children, Kathleen (Andres) and Buddy (Donna); and his beloved grandchildren, Nathan, Vanessa, Charles, Kelsey, Aiden, AJ, and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino and Delfina Nucum. Doy is also survived by his siblings and relatives from Arayat, Pampanga, Philippines, his hometown.

Memorial masses will be held on October 17, 2025 at 10:30AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2016 Willis Ln, Keller, TX and on October 24, 2025 at 10:00AM at Christ the King Church in Lombard, IL.

Doy’s kindness, generosity, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He believed in building relationships and memories that will stand the test of time. God bless.
