Gary Lee Knight

FORT WORTH — Gary Lee Knight, 54, a very special person, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. Celebration of life: was held on Saturday, Feb 23, 2012. Survivors: Wife of 22 years, Joanie Knight; daughter, Dejah Lee Knight; parents, Robbie Lee and Barbara Knight; and numerous cousins, relatives and friends. Gary Lee Knight was born January 4th, 1959 to Robbie Lee and Barbara Knight.  He grew up up in Fort Worth and graduated from Fort Worth Country Day and UT San Antonio.  He met his life long love Joanie, in San Diego.  They vowed their love for each other in Balboa Park in San Diego on May 19th, 1990.  Gary and Joanie chose many adventures and travels that complimented their way of life.  Their most beloved adventure was their precious daughter Dejah Lee who was born on June 14th, 1993. Gary and Dejah did many things as daddy and daughter.  From fossil hunting, to slurpees on a bad day, being soccer coach and singing bohemian rhapsody on the way to school. He instilled the passion for learning along with a good debate and that “everything is negotiable”. He was successful in every aspect of his life but most importantly, he carried out his relationships with integrity and compassion. He was taken way too soon and will be so missed by everyone that knew him.
