Gary Todd

Gary Owens Todd, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Celebration of Life: 11:00am Monday, April 13, 2026 at Ventana by Buckner in Dallas, Texas.
Gary was born on May 18, 1940 to Nina Everie Owens and J.D. Todd of Fort Worth.
He attended the Reeder School for art and theater as a child and enjoyed Boy Scouts.
Gary graduated from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth in 1958.
He then attended the University of Texas at Austin where he was in the Acacia fraternity and found his love for all things Longhorns.
Gary graduated from UT with multiple degrees in the mid-1960's.
After college, he worked in advertising in Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, and Dallas at various firms including Goodman, Witherspoon, and Integer.
Gary married Jo LeRue Black in July, 1969. They had their first daughter in Austin in 1970 and their second daughter in Fort Worth in 1973.
After retiring from the advertising business, Gary still worked as a freelance editor and designer on various projects, including a national advertising campaign for 7-11.
In addition to his family, Gary's passions were painting, genealogy, his dogs, and Longhorn football.
He was an accomplished artist whose paintings were exhibited most recently in an art show at Ventana.
Survivors include: Daughter Meredith Todd Denzler and husband Steven, of Carlsbad, California and Daughter Johanna Todd Keen of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Kathryn Anne Keen, Evan Todd Denzler, Karringtyn Ruth Keen, and Charlotte Jo Denzler.
