Gary Wayne Snider

Gary Wayne Snider of Cleburne, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2021, with his beloved wife of 50 years, Kathy, by his side. Gary was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 2, 1951, to Andrew Richard and Vonnie Joyce Roe Snider. Gary was the oldest of five children, and graduated from Alvarado High School in 1969. Gary’s most recent years of employment were with the Burleson Tire Center for 18 years where he was an auto mechanic and later a store manager, and BTT Trucking Company in Cleburne for 12 years. Gary and Kathy lived most of their married life on the Snider homeplace in the Happy Hill area where he enjoyed gardening, raising show rabbits and goats for the local FFA, and raising and showing English Budgies, many times with granddaughter Brianna by his side. He loved the outdoors and all things in nature, with fishing being one his favorite things to do. Gary Wayne’s siblings respected and held him in high regard, as they went to him for advice and a shoulder to lean on in times of uncertainty. He was an honest, hard working man, devoted to his family. He adored his grandchildren, spending time with them and teaching them about the hobbies and activities he enjoyed. Most of all, anyone who knew Gary knew the love and devotion he had for his beautiful wife Kathy and his two girls, Cealia and Teresa. Gary and Kathy’s life together was a true display of love, mutual admiration, devotion, and passion that overflowed into all they created together. Their love for one another was awe inspiring. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Vonnie Snider. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Jeanne Hardin Snider of Cleburne, Texas; daughter Cealia Sue Allen and husband Jeff of Liberty Hill, Texas; daughter Teresa Kay Snider of Cameron, Texas; grandchildren Brianna Snider Hubnik and husband Brandon, Scott Penner, Michael Penner III, Garrett Allen, and Jared Allen; and great-grandchild Beckett Hubnik. Gary is also survived by his siblings and their spouses: Richard (Afton) Snider of Denver, N.C.; Ken (Molly) Snider of Fruitvale, Texas; Verna (Ray) Bush of Grand Prairie, Texas; and Harold (Judy) Snider of Alvarado, Texas, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life to honor Gary will be a private event with close family on Saturday, October 23, in Fruitvale, Texas.
