Glen Thurman Harden, 87, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026 in North Richland Hills. Thurman was a hardworking man and loving father; he will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors: wife Charlotte Eugenia (Jeannie) Harden, daughter Quay Richardson, son Kelly Harden, daughter Licia Watters. sister Donna Covin, brother Bill Baker, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was a Texan all his life, graduating from Amon Carter High School, Ft Worth, Tx, where he was part of the cheerleading squad. After high school he was accepted to attend Texas A&M where he pursued a degree in business while also being a part of the cheerleading squad. In his younger days he had many hats beginning as a roughneck in various oil companies and grocery store clerk in Ft. Worth. When the computer age hit, he found himself wrapped in the business. He began in sales of large corporate scale technical and electronic applications. He then moved to be a Senior Salesman of business computers and software to Dept. of Defense and other Government Offices, colleges, and large school districts. He also worked for Singer, Sun Systems, and Gould. He was always developing software in an effort to improve and streamline company production efforts as well as warfare efficiency.
He was a founding member of the DFW Venture sailboat club where he served as Fleet Captain and Commodore. He was also a volunteer with the Hurst Police department’s Citizen On Patrol (Cop) volunteer, where he earned multiple commendations.
He had the ability to charm his way into anyone’s heart as well as being the orneriest SOB when he felt he was right, which was 100% of the time. He and his wife loved to dance and travel. They loved each other dearly.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
