Gordon Glosup

d. February 19, 2018

Gordon Glosup, 62, of Alvarado, scraped the mortal mud from his boots and stepped out into the bright light of eternity on Monday, February 19, 2018, a day after returning home from his latest stint in the hospital following a series of seizures.  Gordo was one of those deplorable, dog-loving (he had six), gun-slinging marines, who would, and often did, go into debt to help a friend.  He went postal in the 80s beginning a 30 year rampage of quiet service.  There’s no telling how many millions of letters, cards, circulars, packages and bills he stuffed into mail boxes.  Inveterate bibliophile, voracious reader and truth seeker, Gordon leaves behind his wife Jean; their daughter Jennifer; a sister, Gwen Archer; four brothers, Max, Tim, Eric and David; and their broods, each of whom mourns the loss of his gentle spirit and his antics.  Semper fidelis, Gordo. Friends and relatives will gather to celebrate Gordon’s life Wednesday, February 28 at the Burleson Recreation Center, 550 NW Summercrest Blvd, between 5:30 and 7:30.
