EVERMAN — Hellen Ruth Hobbs, 90, went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the home of her son in Fort Worth surrounded by her loving family. Funeral: 10 A.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain David Garcia officiating. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, March 17, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment: Everman Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers are grandsons; Wendell Mitchell, Matthew Sumpter, Jason Davis, Joseph Barrington, Bradley Barrington , Stephen Barrington, great-grandson, Ryan Sutton and honorary pallbearer; Sean Watson. Mrs. Hobbs , the youngest of five children was born on November 1, 1923, in Itasca, TX, to Ira Lon and Ethel Mae Johnson. Mrs. Hobbs was a resident of Everman for almost fifty years. She was a devout Christian, who lived by faith and set a loving example for her children, many grandchildren and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Colbert Wendell Hobbs, daughter Peggy L. Mitchell, son-in-law, Thomas L. Mitchell, three brothers and one sister. Her family wishes to thank Vitas Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to her. Those left to cherish her memories and celebrate her life include her son, Lonnie L. Hobbs, daughters, Linda Sumpter, Patsy Scoggins, Gwenda Hobbs, Debra Hobbs Barrington, Pam Hobbs; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren ,six great, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
