Ida V. Autrey

d. April 25, 2020

August 15, 1925 – April 25, 2020 All of Heaven is rejoicing, for another angel has made her way home. On April 25, 2020, Ida V. Autrey completed her journey to her forever home, hand in hand with Jesus. Ida was born on August 15, 1925 to Ulysses DeCapua and Anna Scott. She was the influential sister to Luke DeCapua, Bob DeCapua, and James DeCapua; all who had preceded her and waited on their reunion in the Heavens. She was the devoted wife to Leverette Autrey to whom waited for her to rejoin him after 53 years apart. She was the loving mother of Virginia Autrey Cragle (of Crowley, TX), Leverette Autrey Jr. (of Maybank, TX) and Lavonia Autrey who eagerly met her at the pearly gates. She was adored by many grandchildren; Tommy Barr, Jeff, Autrey, Valeria Wilson, Regina Hoover, James Cragle, and Nathan Autrey. She was blessed with ample great grandchildren; Jacob and Joseph Barr, Jace and Kalynn Hoover, Jesse, Ashley, Braydon, Jayden, and Blake Cragle. Ida cared for all her family in many ways. Whether it was allowing a place for them to stay in times of need, a home cooked meal to feed their bodies or caring advise to feed their souls, she had a way of gently being present. Ida was a home maker, and she was excellent at her position. Ida enjoyed sitting outside with her favorite beverage, she knew the meaning of laughter only Hee-Haw and Carol Burnett could bring, and she knew what it meant to celebrate and when to rest. She was a strong woman and tender enough to love unconditionally. She loved her Lord and when He called her home, she followed faithfully. We will celebrate the life of Ida, Grand-ma, Great Maw-Maw on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 5:00 in the evening at her home, 1937 Palomino Blvd, Crowley, Texas 76036. She would have been 95 years young. No flowers or gifts are to be purchased or brought, only words to share and honor a remarkable woman. We love you; we miss you, but we know we will see you again.
