Ingrid Hazlewood Cowan, 77, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on July 3, 2026 at home surrounded by family.
Born June 29, 1949, in Stanton, Texas, to Roscoe and Ruth Hazlewood, Ingrid grew up on the farm in Courtney and later in Stanton. She graduated high school in Stanton and briefly attended college in Abilene.
Ingrid owned and operated a sewing shop in downtown Stanton as well as a video store. She also started the first Hospice program in Martin County. A devoted homemaker, she loved to sew and was passionate about telling everyone about Jesus.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She delighted in sewing for them and sharing stories about Jesus. She also loved to go fishing, even though the opportunities became fewer in recent years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Cowan, of Mansfield; a son, Jamie Williamson (Mona) of DeKalb, Texas; a daughter, Angie Hildreth (Steven) of Olathe, Kansas; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Roscoe and Ruth Hazlewood, and a son, Kristopher David Williamson.
In accordance with Ingrid’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Martin County Museum, Stanton, Texas, 432-756-2722, or your favorite charity. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
