James Edwin Blackerby, Jr.

James Edwin Blackerby Jr., lovingly known as Jim, passed away on September 17, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 67. He was born on May 1, 1958, in Weatherford, Texas.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Krysta Morris and husband Josh, and their sons, Jaxon and Jadyn Morris; and by his son, Matthew Blackerby and wife Helene. He is also survived by his sister, Paula Barker and husband Phil, as well as several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Jim cherished his close friendships with Sam and Shari Hart, and Tony and Shannon Johnson. He proudly helped build and run Sam’s fireworks stands, and never turned down a chance to sing karaoke — especially with Shannon. These moments, filled with laughter and connection, reflected the pieces of life he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and James Blackerby Sr., and his brother, David Blackerby.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church Benbrook on October 4, 2025 at 3PM.
