FORT WORTH — James Elmer Branum, 87, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at South Park Baptist Church. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Elmer, know to most as “Daddy O”, was born in Roxton on Nov. 5, 1924, to Than and Maggie Branum. He was a home builder most of his life and was raised to a master Mason in 1963 and he was also a Shriner and a member of the Deer Creek Lodge in Everman. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Elmer served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a former member and deacon at Park Temple Baptist Church of Fort Worth, and was currently a member of South Park Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his 2 beloved pets Tina and JoJo. He was loved by all who knew him. He was kindhearted and was loved by his family… Elmer was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Tommie; son, Jerry Branum; and daughter, Karren Saick. Survivors: Son, James Branum and wife, Kim; daughter, Mary Castles and husband, Charles; daughter-in-law, Anita Branum; sister, Sarah Lansing; brothers, Glen and Doug Branum; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
