James "Jim" Alton Williams

Jim Williams, 80, passed away September 27th at Community Hospice after a short illness. After graduation from Las Cruces High School, Jim enlisted in the Air Force where he perfected computer programming skills he later used at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Univac, Levi Strauss and other employers. Jim will be remembered by his daughter Tami Brashear and her husband Dan, grandsons Will Davis, Ben Davis, Dirk McHazlett, and Trey McHazlett, and countless friends and family who knew him. Not a day passed where Jim didn’t remember the love of his life, Carroll who he lost in 2011 after 54 years of marriage. Jim was also preceded in death by his parents Claude and Beulah Williams, brother Don, sister Audrey and daughter Martie. The family has planned a celebration of life service at the Nordheim cemetery in March 2015. In honor of Jim’s lifelong car passion, the family will be setting up Angel Wheels, an organization designed to put families in need back on the road.
