James (Jimmy) Leonard Wilkerson

Rhome, TX — James Leonard “Jimmy” Wilkerson, 79, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Decatur. Jimmy was loved and will be missed by his family, friends and caregivers. We celebrate that, after more than 10 years of living with leg paralysis, he is now completely healed and free.

Jimmy was a dedicated worker with a long trucking career, during which he earned many awards for safety. He enjoyed bowling, good food, and watching sports.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Box Wilkerson, and his son, Andrew Paul Wilkerson.

Jimmy is survived by his son, James Darin Wilkerson and wife, Yongchu; his daughter, Karen Gayle Wilkerson; his grandchildren, Paul, Haley, Aubrey, Eli, Josh, Liam, and Myka; and his great-grandson, Francis.
