JAMES RODERICK McNAIR

August 25, 1941 — April 27, 2025

BURLESON

Peacefully and surrounded by family, James Roderick McNair passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 83.

Rick was born on August 25, 1941, in Chester, South Carolina. At 15, he met Carole, who would become his beloved wife. After Rick joined the Navy in 1959, they married and enjoyed 65 wonderful years together. They raised five children, traveled extensively, and found peace and spiritual fulfillment as Jehovah's Witnesses. Rick looked forward to living on a peaceful earth as taught by Jesus, free from the challenges faced by mankind today. He frequently shared his hope of resurrection to a paradise on earth with his neighbors, friends, and acquaintances.

He is survived by his wife Carole, his three sons Jay, Trent, and Zane, his two daughters Stephanie McNair and Mandy Newshott; thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and his brother Sam. Rick was predeceased by his parents James and Pauline, as well as his twin sisters Bobby and Gerry of Montgomery, Alabama.

Rick will be remembered for his quick smile and sense of humor, his love of travel, adventure, and his excitement for life.

“I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.”
