Jason Marshall Ezell

Dallas – Jason Marshall Ezell, 49, passed away at his residence in Oak Cliff, TX on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Jason left behind his father, James R. Ezell and wife Mary Ann of Wichita Falls, TX and mother, Donna Warren and husband Russell of Arlington, TX, brothers James D. Ezell and wife, Karma, of Austin and Justin R. Ezell and wife, Kara, of McKinney, also 4 nephews: Jamie, Ethan, Jay and Ty Ezell. Jason was an incredibly gifted photographer who fell in love with the camera at Red Oak High School and later went on to study photography at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. His love of music and travel drew him to a life on the road for many years, traveling as part of the road crew for several bands. He loved animals perhaps even more than people. He had cats, rats, and dogs over the years (their pink hair often matching his own dyed hair). But above all there was Iva Lee, his SOC Howler (a one of a kind like Jason). The two were inseparable from the day he found her as a stray to the day she crossed the rainbow bridge. To his many friends, he was simply known as “EZ”, always willing to lend a hand, or give a ride, or the shirt off his back. Recently, as Jason reflected on his life, he said, “I have no regrets. I’ve led the life I wanted to lead. I’ve done interesting things and had experiences most people will never have.” A memorial service will be posted to Facebook in the near future.
