Jo Ann Sells

Jo Ann Sells, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home in Carrollton, Texas on May 28, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and grace. She was born on December 21, 1941, in Chaffee, MO, the daughter of Lodis Virginia (Loucks) Davenport and Franklin Wayne Gateley. Jo Ann was married 60 years to Doyle Ray (Bud) Sells. Devoted to her family, Jo Ann will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit and unwavering faith. She loved reading, tending to her flowers, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, Tim (Janet) Sells and daughter, Lori (Nick) Polyak; six grandchildren: Caitlyn Sells, Conner Sells, Emily Polyak, Ellie Polyak, Jude Sells and Lucy Sells; three sisters: Jackie Martin, Kathy Moyers, Sandy Mertz; and one brother, Dan Davenport.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Sells; son, Greg Sells; parents, Lodis Davenport and Franklin Gately; one brother, Mike Gately; and two sisters, Jeri Eichorn and Pam Kiplinger.

Though we are heartbroken and will miss her dearly, we are comforted by many years of cherished memories. At the request of Jo Ann, there will be no memorial service. Instead, we ask you to make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House Charities as a way of honoring Jo Ann.
