Weatherford, TX – Joan Tanner went to join her husband in heaven after a courageous battle with cancer, on May 14, 2024 in Weatherford. She was born on May 29, 1938 in Seneca, MO. Predeceased by her husband, Charles in 2021; Joan is survived by two sons, Todd (Rachel) and Ty (Khristina); her grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Erin, and Jake. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends. Joan had a memorable young adult life as she and Charles lived in several states and chose to settle down in the great State of Texas. She held multiple professions and later discovered her passion was jewelry. She was the founder/owner of Tanco Creations Jewelry and built her successful business from very humble beginnings. Joan and Charles were active in their church as well as regularly serving the Navajo Missions in New Mexico. Her greatest pleasure was received when hosting her annual Easter celebrations with her family and friends. A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Azle, TX on Monday, June 24th at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Parker County Committee on Aging – Meals on Wheels program or First Baptist Church Azle in her honor.
