Rio Vista:Funeral services for Joe Burch, 96, of Rio Vista will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home Chapel, of Cleburne. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, Tuesday at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield. Joe Burch, a retired farmer, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2004 in Whitney. He was born in Blum, Texas August 9, 1908, the son of George Burch and Nellie Pink Petty Burch. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Rio Vista and a fifty year member of the Masonic Lodge of Rio Vista. He married Collene Harrison October 6, 1932 in Jayton, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1999. He was also preceded in death by one son, Gaylon Burch; one grandson, Roger Burch, four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by sons, Bill Burch and wife, Nancy, of Angel Fire, New Mexico and Tommy Burch and wife, Diane, of Rio Vista; daughters, Marion White, of Streetman, Texas, Helen Sims and husband, Sammy, of Cedar Hill, Texas and Anna Haynes and husband, Tom, of Sugarland, Texas; daughter-in-law, Frances Burch, of Rio Vista; brother, R.L. Burch and wife, Wanda, of Hillsboro, Texas; sisters-in-law, Cecil Burch, of Robinson, Texas and Thelma Burch, of Cleburne; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
