Joshua:Funeral services for John Cowart Smith, 64, of Joshua will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home Chapel, of Cleburne, with Rev. Larry Elsea officiating. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Monday at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home, of Cleburne. John Cowart Smith, a retired machinist for Lockheed Martin, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2004, in Fort Worth. He was born in Washington D.C. December 7, 1939, the son of John Dee Smith, Jr. and Gladys (Hammerly) Smith. He married Linda Jeffress, May 12, 1965 in Oklahoma. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Linda Smith of Joshua; son, Wayne Worthington of Granbury; daughters, Sandra Barton of Cleburne and Laura Roe of Joshua; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Whitney, Dillon, Sabrina, Cheyenne, Chance and Carter; mother, Olga Smith, of Fort Worth; sisters, Doris May, of Nevada, Gail England, of Texarkana, Charla Reid of Washington, Suzie Torres of Fort Worth; two brothers, Donald Smith of Cleburne and John Mason Smith of Fort Worth.
