At just 17 years old, John felt a calling to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army in 1962. He went on to dedicate nearly two decades to military service, exemplifying commitment, discipline, and honor throughout his career. For 11 years, John proudly served as a tuba and bass guitar player in the United States Army Band, sharing his musical talent as part of his service.
