John “Johnny” Barnard

“Johnny” Barnard passed away Monday ,July 24, 2023 in McKinney, Texas. He was born February, 24, 1957 in Ruston LA. Johnny is leaving many memories for those who knew him. His thunderous laugh, southern drawl he liked to emphasize, his compassion for all animals , he was known for stopping to pick up a turtle on the side of the road to get her to safety, and for his tremendous love of wanting to know all about people he met. He loved sailing around the world as a Merchant Mariner with Seafarers International Union and had the tales to tell! He was the best life companion of 35 years of marriage to his wife Brigitte. Preceded in death by his parents Patricia Lee Barnard and John L. Barnard Jr. He is survived by his wife Brigitte C Barnard of McKinney, Tx , his beloved sister Pam Brock and husband Dietz of Rogers AR, his nephews Trent Brock of Rogers, AR, Bryce Brock and his wife Kendra of Aberdeen NC , his Aunt Tanya Blum and husband Peter of Dickinson ,TX, and Oscar and Sara his 2 surviving elderly dogs who are missing him a lot . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J Fox Parkinson’s Foundation or to the Mental Health Foundation in Johnny’s name .
