Johnny Brent Embry

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Johnny Brent Embry, who left us peacefully in his family home in Grand Prairie, TX, in September 2024, at the age of 68. Born on October 5, 1955, in Waxahachie, TX, he was preceded in death by his father, Leonard, his mother, Dorothy, and his brother, Jimmy. John is survived by his sisters, Linda and Karen, and his brother Dave. John leaves behind his legacy, including son Derek and his wife Brittany, son Riley and his wife Briony, and five grandchildren: Franklin, Dominic, Gabriel, Isetta, and Jaska. John spent most of his career in the corrugated box industry. He had a deep love for music, movies, and astronomy. A guitarist, avid movie and record collector, and enthusiastic stargazer, Johnny found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His hands-on skills were evident in the many repairs he undertook around the house and on his vehicles. A family gathering will be held in the near future to honor John’s memory. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
