Joy Powell

Joy Jeanette (Bell) Powell died Sunday, December 26th, in Fort Worth, Texas after a long battle with dementia. Joy was born May 4th, 1935 in Floydada, Texas to Bessie and Edgar Bell. Joy worked in the kitchen at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital then Walls Regional Hospital for many years and was well loved by all in the community who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Jasper, her parents, one grandson, Daniel Powell and her brother Charles Bell. She is survived by her son Danny Powell, daughters Denise Ward and Kelly Curlee, her sister Jeanenne Bell and a host of grandchildren and other relatives. Joy always expressed a desire for her ashes to be scattered to the four winds. To honor her wishes, the family will hold a celebration of life and scattering ceremony at a later date.
