Joyce Arlene Crist passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on May 7, 2017 with her three children by her side. She was born on October 5, 1939 in Anderson, Indiana. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Crist in 2006, and her great-grandson, Devon A. Christopher in 2004. She is survived by her three children, J. Scott Strotman, Jeffrey N. Strotman, and Jama E. Cleveland. She has 4 grandchildren (Jason, Adam, Hannah and Matthew), and 3 great-grand children (Tristan, Logan and Carley). Joyce was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had many passions including her Christian faith, music and art. She was a talented musician and played many instruments including the piano, organ, guitar and mandolin. She was the pianist and organist for various churches where she was a member. She was an art teacher and a piano teacher. She attended gun engraving school and became an accomplished engraver. She attended nursing school and became a Registered LPN in North Carolina. She obtained her Associates Degree from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC. Her memorial service will be scheduled at a later time.
