In Loving Memory of Karen Devon Grube
October 18, 1955 – September 18, 2026
On September 18, 2026, Karen Devon Grube went home to be with Jesus, surrounded by a lifetime of love, faith, family, and cherished memories.
Karen was a devoted believer who knew God deeply and served Him faithfully throughout her life. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about—it was reflected in the way she lived, the way she loved, and the way she welcomed others into her life.
Born on October 18, 1955, to Wayne and Clydene Cribbs, Karen grew up in Portales, New Mexico. She graduated from Portales High School in 1973 and later attended Texas Tech University.
Karen’s greatest joy was her family. She raised her three children, Treyci, Treyla, and Christopher, pouring her heart into being their mother and remaining an important part of their lives as they built families of their own. She later found her forever partner in Larry Grube, whom she married in 1998. Larry remained faithfully and lovingly by her side until her passing.
Karen was a radiant light that could not be extinguished.
She was deeply active in her faith and community and attended The Met Church in Fort Worth, where she worshiped alongside her family. One of her favorite places to serve was Tres Dias. Her relationship with Jesus was at the center of her life, and the love that flowed from that relationship touched countless people.
To Karen, a stranger was simply a friend she had not met yet—and before long, most friends became family.
Whether gathering everyone together on Sundays, celebrating life's special moments, or simply staying involved in the everyday lives of her children and grandchildren, Karen made time for the people she loved. Family was never an obligation to her; it was her joy. Her world revolved around those she loved, and she had a remarkable way of making each person feel that they mattered.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; uncles; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; and several other beloved family members and friends.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her light, faith, and legacy forward, including her husband, Larry Grube, and her children and their families:

Those who knew Karen will remember her faith, her warmth, her welcoming heart, and above all, the extraordinary love she had for her family.
Karen loved the color purple. In the days and years ahead, whenever you see or wear purple, may it remind you of Karen—of her warmth, her beautiful spirit, and just how deeply she loved you.
Though her family will miss her beyond measure, they find comfort in knowing that the faith Karen carried throughout her life has now become sight. Her earthly journey has ended, but the light she gave to others will continue through every person she loved.
Celebration of Life
Karen’s life will be celebrated on what would have been her 71st birthday:

There will be no graveside service or reception following the Celebration of Life.
In Karen’s memory, the family invites you to wear purple—a simple tribute to a woman whose faith was steadfast, whose light was radiant, and whose love will never be forgotten.
