Katherine S Olivier

Katherine May Sauro Olivier passed away peacefully at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026. She was born on January 7, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Nathan Anthony Sauro and Ruby May Davis. On November 19, 1955, she married the love of her life, Alvin Joseph Olivier Jr., at St. Augustine Catholic Church in New Orleans. Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she relocated to Texas.
Katherine will be remembered for her adventurous spirit and her love of reading, as well as her enjoyment of attending plays, concerts, and ballets.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin Joseph Olivier Jr.; her son, Shawn Gerard Olivier Sr.; her grandson, Shawn Gerard Olivier II; and her parents, Nathan Anthony Sauro and Ruby May Davis Kantor. She is survived by her children, Brian, Deidre, Darren (Kay), Jody, and Rachel. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Laurie, widow of her late son, Shawn Gerard Olivier Sr. She is survived by her grandchildren Colin (Danielle), Evan, Lauren, Steven, Marisa (Jonathan), Anthony, Jody, and Cameron, and her great-grandchildren; sisters, niece and nephews and their families. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Gary Burkholder, a devoted longtime family friend and caregiver, for the compassion, kindness, and unwavering support he provided to our mother during her final days.
