Tuesday, October 1, 2013 also at the funeral home. Burial: Burleson Memorial Park. Kenneth D. Rash was born on December 3rd, 1954, @ Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He left this physical world on Friday, September 27th, 2013, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was employed by Klein Tools in Mansfield, Texas. Kenn grew up and lived most of his life in Arlington, Texas, graduating from Lamar High School. After high school, Kenn followed his dream and became a cowboy, rodeoing by roping and riding bulls for Tarleton State University on scholarship. He was forced to give this dream up after one of many injuries suffered from a bull’s horn. He was still a cowboy at heart, Kenn was the Sports Director of the Arlington YMCA for several years. He had coached all of his sons, Kody and Kasey’s, pee wee football, soccer, baseball, and basketball teams and knew he would be a great fit for the job. He enjoyed being around kids of all ages. He had a connection that most don’t. I think it was his openness to be himself and his love of family. He loved being a part of the racing community. Kenn was an avid bird watcher and hunter of deer, turkey and wild hog, and in fact provided his family with most of the meat during the year. Time spent hunting meant quality time to spend with his Uncle Butch, his sons, and close friends. He couldn’t wait for the season to start. Kenn was a big football fan and needed his Friday Night Lights fix whenever he could get it. Most will remember him at Kasey’s high school games with “that Big Cowbell” that he used to ring. Actually, it had quite a big gong sound. That’s how big it was. Once Kasey’s high school football career ended, Kenn found solace in watching his nephews Keith and Shawn play peewee through high school. He was present at almost every single game. He was a fan mostly of his sons. He loved them more than life itself and was so proud he would almost burst at the seams talking about them. Kenn was someone who could make you smile even though you were having one of the worst days of your life. He an easiness about him that made everyone else feel at ease as well. Kenn loved to dance and in fact this is how he met his wife, Teri. Together, she was his Queen and he was her King. I’m not sure what took God so long to put them together, but when he did, it was meant to be. Blended families were not easy, but they somehow weathered the storm and were finally starting to settle into becoming grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Teri; sons, Kody and Kasey Rash; parents, Lawrence and Laverne Rash; step-daughters, Amanda and Katie Otten; sister, Cindy Rash; nephew, Cole Rash, and numerous extended family and friends.
