Kenneth Luther Long passed away suddenly on December 16th, 2022, after losing his ongoing battle with addiction. He was born on May 16, 1980, in Coushatta, LA. He survived by his mother, Pamela Summers, his sister, Michelle Inman, brother-in-law David Inman, nephews Kayleb and Judah, grandmother, Louise Long. He is also survived by his two fur babies, Jolly and Molly, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Long and his stepfather, Jimmy Summers. This world truly lost a special person who would give his everything to help those in need as he had a very loving heart. He loved the mountains, hiking and the beach. One of his favorite things was spending time in the Arkansas foothills with his grandparents. Kenneth truly enjoyed the simple life. This world burns a little less bright without his presence. We will miss him until the day we join him but now we know he is no longer suffering from the sadness and depression that plagued him at the end. He is finally at peace resting in the arms of Jesus. A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held on Saturday, January 14th at 3:00pm at Creston Baptist Church, 5315 LA-9, Creston, LA 71070. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to My Brother’s House (a non-profit 501C3 Organization) would be appreciated. Donations can be made by check or money order and mailed to PO Box 696, Muenster, Texas 76252. The Brother’s House is a sober living establishment that Kenneth lived in for over a year. He was able to build solid relationships with other men that also battled addiction. The family asks that you educate yourself and others about addiction. Nobody asks or wants to be an addict. Help stop the shame and stigma of addiction. Kenneth, like all the others suffering from this disease, was so much more than his addiction. To all that have given their love and support to both Kenneth and his family, we thank you.
