Kevin Lynn Almond, 66, of Waxahachie, TX, passed away on June 29, 2026. Kevin was born on July 1, 1959, in Waxahachie, TX, to the late Eva Jenkins Almond and the late Roy C. Almond. Kevin was the youngest of three children. Kevin was a loving husband to Elizabeth Campbell Almond and a devoted father to his son, Roy Almond, and his wife, Kalea, and his daughter, Samantha Juarez, and her husband, Steelman. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Khade, Knox, and Emerson Almond; Brooks and Brennan Juarez; and step-grandchildren Payton Bullard and Alexis Maldonado, all of whom brought him immense joy. Kevin is also survived by his sister Linda Wright, and brother Mike McAdams, and many nieces and nephews.
Kevin attended Waxahachie High School and graduated in 1977. After graduation, he entered law enforcement as a police officer in Waxahachie, where he served his community. In 1980, he followed in his father’s footsteps and began a 40-year career with the United States Postal Service. Throughout his career, he held many positions before ultimately serving as Maintenance Manager for the North Texas District. Kevin took great pride in his work and built a successful career marked by dedication, experience, and a lifetime of knowledge gained through his service.
He married the love of his life on January 30, 1982, and together they shared 44 years of love and laughter. Kevin cherished every moment spent with his family, whether relaxing at home or making memories on vacations. He embraced life with enthusiasm and could often be found outdoors enjoying his many "toys"—his boat, motorcycle, cars, R/C airplanes, and especially his beloved Cessna 182. Flying was more than a hobby; it was his greatest passion and brought him a sense of freedom unlike anything else. He found great joy in hunting, fishing, and camping, and treasured the time spent outdoors with his family. Kevin never met a stranger and loved telling stories, often making those around him laugh with his quick wit and gift for conversation. His adventurous spirit, love for his family, and larger-than-life personality will be remembered by all who knew him.
Kevin's Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 28th from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Ferris Heights UMC, located at 108 Center St., Waxahachie, TX 75165.
