Cleburne–Funeral services for Lavada Cooper Wiggs will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 2, 2004, at the First United Pentecostal Family Church, 1000 Woodard, Cleburne, with Pastor F. L. Ashley and Rev. Charles Payne officiating. Burial will be at Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home, of Cleburne. Mrs. Wiggs, a homemaker, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2004. She was born February 11, 1911, in Cisco, Texas, the daughter of George and Maggie Cooper. Lavada lived most of her life in Cleburne and Arlington. She had been a resident of Colonial Manor in Cleburne for the past eleven years. She has always been an active member of the Pentecostal Church. The last few years, because of her health, she has not been able to attend church, but from her wheel chair has spread the love of Jesus Christ and his saving Grace at Colonial Manor. Mrs. Wiggs was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, six brothers and husband, William Earl. She is survived by five children, Earl Locke, of Jonesboro, Texas, Edna Payne, of Cleburne, Texas, Etta Shellhorse, of Arlington, Texas, Rebecca Gordon, of Richland, Mississippi and Bob Wiggs, of Modesto, California. She is also survived by four stepchildren, Jim Wiggs, of Belmont, Arkansas, Lea Arnona and Martha Whitehead, of Angleton, Texas and Mary Underwood, of Seabrook, Texas, one brother, Gordon Cooper, of Arlington, Texas; thirty-two grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
